Ffynnonau lies ten miles west of the busy market town of Carmarthen which has
an excellent modern shopping centre and a leisure centre with swimming pool.
The attractive riverside village of Llansteffan, just two miles away, has sandy
beaches, a tennis court, two pubs with good food and a fine restaurant.
On a hill above the village is a substantial castle ruin which is well worth
the climb for the superb views that it commands, both seaward and up-river.
This is an ideal area for walking and cycling, and bird watchers can enjoy a
wide variety of species both on the adjacent National Trust salt marshes and
from the property itself - we have our own resident house martins in summer,
and buzzards are frequently seen.
